Indonesia is a unitary self-governing state and continent-wide country located mainly in Southeast Asia, with some territories in Oceania. Official language is Indonesian. Indonesia is situated between the Indian and Pacific oceans, it is the world’s largest island country, with more than seventeen thousand islands. Indonesia's capital and largest city is Jakarta on the island of Java and the other major cities are Bandung, Medan, and Surabaya. It is known for beaches, volcanoes, Komodo dragons and jungles sheltering elephants, orangutans and tigers. Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world. It consists of five major islands and about 30 smaller groups.
